This #GivingTuesday, we ask that you give the gift of time travel! Your monetary donation will help send a local student back in time to Old Alabama Town, where they will learn how Alabamians worked and lived in the 19th century!
For nearly fifty years, Landmarks Foundation has worked with neighboring businesses and organizations to improve the quality of life in Montgomery. Together, we have executed a number of successful community restoration projects and established Old Alabama Town as a treasured educational destination for tens of thousands of school children statewide. Old Alabama Town tours are a unique learning experience directly related to Alabama’s traditional fourth grade history curricula. Our educational tours and programs allow students to see and experience Alabama’s rich history come alive. Proportionally, more 4th graders outside of Montgomery tour Old Alabama Town than those who reside within a few miles of our living history museum. The barriers are admission and transportation costs. The funds raised on #GivingTuesday will help us offer scholarships to increase the number of Montgomery County School 4th graders who tour Old Alabama Town in the 2016-2017 school year!
