In 2024, Landmarks Foundation introduced its outdoor classroom project (Landmarks Passalong Gardeners) in which our historic gardens function as an outdoor classroom presenting Alabama's history through botanical storytelling, wildlife preservation, and an introduction to Alabama native plants to encourage organic gardening.
In 2024, 78 participants joined our program. In 2025 our program saw a minimal growth with 125 participants. Through a Mid-South RC&D Council Grant we were able to expand our programming in 2026 to 751 participants. They took part in several creative and gardening workshop, lectures, hands-on activities, Passalong Gardeners Appreciation breakfasts and other related programming such as community composting, beekeeping, natural dye workshops, collecting seed and seed calendar workshops, and Saturday morning Bird Walks with Christopher Joe. A total of 5,656 visitors benefitted from our program.
Senator Hatcher, and Representative Hassel, thanks to your trust in the great work of the Landmarks Foundation of Montgomery, we were able to transform our museum space into a thriving meeting space for daily gatherings and knowledge transfer.
We thank your for your trust in the Landmarks Foundation, and appreciate the good work you are doing in our community.
